Why Quopener?
One simple movement: place it over the lid and press the handles together. Here is why that works.
-
The jar stays put
Place Quopener over the lid. The jar stays on the counter; you only hold the handles.
-
Your wrist doesn't turn
Press both handles together. The movement is in your hands, not in your wrist.
-
Both hands do the same
Your left and right hand press at the same time, in one calm movement. That way the force is shared by two hands.
-
Wet or greasy hands? No problem.
You don't hold the glass itself, so hands that are wet or greasy from cooking don't matter.
-
Also for jars without a vacuum
Vacuum or not, a lid from 5 to 9 cm comes open. From pickles to the jar of jam that has been stuck for weeks.
The difference
Not like other jar openers.
Most jar openers only solve half the problem: you still have to hold the jar and turn. Here you see the difference at a glance.
| Quopener | Twist opener | Vacuum lifter | Electric | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No need to hold the jar | Quopener: yes | Twist opener: no | Vacuum lifter: no | Electric: yes |
| Your wrist doesn't turn | Quopener: yes | Twist opener: no | Vacuum lifter: yes | Electric: yes |
| Wet or greasy hands don't matter | Quopener: yes | Twist opener: no | Vacuum lifter: yes | Electric: yes |
| Also jars without a vacuum | Quopener: yes | Twist opener: yes | Vacuum lifter: no | Electric: yes |
| No battery or plug | Quopener: yes | Twist opener: yes | Vacuum lifter: yes | Electric: no |
Twist opener: a rubber grip or clamp you use to turn the lid loose yourself. Vacuum lifter: lifts the edge of the lid so air gets in. Electric: runs on batteries or a rechargeable battery.
What buyers think.
We started on Kickstarter. This is what backers wrote once the Quopener was on their kitchen counter.
I had a jar of strawberry preserves from France. Holy guacamole it is impossible to open. ... Well that jar was no match for my Easy Jar Opener!
This is how it opens.
-
Over the lid
Place the Quopener over the lid. The jar simply stays put.
-
Handles together
Your wrist doesn't turn. You press the handles together.
-
Open
Lid off. Even on that jar of jam that has been stuck for weeks.
Will Quopener fit my jar?
Yes, most standard jars with lids from 5 to 9 cm across.
- Works on vacuum and non-vacuum lids.
- Think jam, beans, pickles and pasta sauce.

Not sure?
Measure across your lid. Between 5 and 9 cm = it fits.
Doesn't it fit after all?
You can try it for 14 days. Not happy? Money back.
25 prototypes. One movement.
We felt that opening a jar didn't have to be so hard. So we started brainstorming, then built more than 25 prototypes in wood, aluminium and plastic, until one simple movement was left.
Just checking.
Which jars does Quopener work on?
Jars with a lid from 5 to 9 cm across. Vacuum or not doesn't matter, so peanut butter and stuck jam too. Bottles only if the cap is at least 5 cm across.
Do I need a lot of strength?
No. It is like the cutting movement of hedge shears.
What if it doesn't fit?
Then you get your money back. Often it's down to the size setting. Just email us at info@quopener.com and we'll take a look with you first. You'll hear from us within one working day.
